Mai. Die IMO verfolgt damit das folgende Ziel: \u201eThe day celebrates women in the industry and is intended to promote the recruitment, retention and sustained employment of women in the maritime sector, raise the profile of women in maritime, strengthen IMO&#8217;s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 (gender equality) and support work to address the current gender imbalance in maritime.\u201d Die Ansprache von Kitack Lim, dem IMO General Sekret\u00e4r finden sie <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3Pa0TXubM_k&amp;ab_channel=IMOHQ\">hier<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0<\/p><p>In Abstimmung zwischen der Senatorin f\u00fcr Wissenschaft und H\u00e4fen, dem Bremer Rhederverein, der Handelskammer Bremen, IHK f\u00fcr Bremen und Bremerhaven, der Berufsbildungsstelle Seeschifffahrt (BBS) sowie dem Deutschen Maritimen Zentrum (DMZ) wurde gemeinsam der Entschluss gefasst, dieses besondere Ereignis mit einem Festakt am 18. Mai um 1400 im Haus Sch\u00fctting am Bremer Markt zu w\u00fcrdigen.<\/p><p>Rund 100 G\u00e4ste folgten der Einladung der Senatorin. Darunter viele bekannte Gesichter, die bereits viele Jahre in der Schifffahrt t\u00e4tig sind und erfreulicherweise auch viele Auszubildende und Studierende, die ein Gro\u00dfteil ihres maritimen Weges noch vor sich haben.<\/p><p>Gekonnt f\u00fchrte Svea Clausen durch die Veranstaltung, die mit Gru\u00dfworten von Frau Dr. Claudia Schilling, der Senatorin f\u00fcr Wissenschaft und H\u00e4fen, von Frau Dr. Gaby Bornheim, Pr\u00e4sidentin des Verbandes Deutscher Reeder und von Frau Hilde Kammerer aus dem Bundesministeriums f\u00fcr Digitales und Verkehr, er\u00f6ffnet wurde.<\/p><p>Im Anschluss stellten das Deutsche Maritime Zentrum (DMZ) zusammen mit der Berufsbildungsstelle Seeschifffahrt (BBS) ihre Medienkampagne zum International Day for Women in Maritime vor. Ziel der Kampagne ist es vor allem junge Frauen, aber nat\u00fcrlich auch junge M\u00e4nner f\u00fcr eine Karriere in der Schifffahrt zu begeistern. Die Kampagne ist zu sehen auf <a href=\"http:\/\/www.machmeer.de\"><em><strong>machmeer<\/strong><\/em><\/a> und ihren <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/machmeer\/\"><em><strong>Social Media Kan\u00e4le<\/strong><strong>n<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/p><p>Abgerundet wurde die Veranstaltung mit Reden von Auszubildenden und Studierenden aus der Schifffahrt und ihren Geschichten wieso sie sich f\u00fcr eine maritime Karriere entschieden haben.<\/p><p>Die Zahl 2 sollte sich im Laufe der Veranstaltung als Leitfigur herauskristallisieren. Immer wieder wurde betont, dass nur 2% aller Seeleute Frauen sind. Und wiederum 90% dieser weiblichen Seeleute sind in der Kreuzfahrt t\u00e4tig. Diese Zahlen zeigen eindr\u00fccklich auf wie Weit der Weg zur Gender Equality in der Schifffahrt noch ist!<\/p><p>Eine entsprechende \u00dcbersicht des Programm des Festaktes finden Sie
